Professional Work
This section brings together selected resources and projects developed through my work as an educator and school media specialist. These materials reflect my interests in collection development, literature evaluation, instructional design, reader advisory, representation, and creating practical resources that support students, educators, and school library programs.
Curated book lists highlighting literature from a range of cultures, identities, and communities. These collections are designed to support collection development, reader advisory, and the discovery of books that broaden representation within school library collections.
In-depth evaluations of individual works representing different cultures, identities, and lived experiences. Each review considers literary quality, cultural representation, audience, reader response, and the potential value of the work within a school library collection.
A developmental reading project examining picture books, poetry, multimedia, transitional literature, and upper-elementary titles. The project evaluates materials according to age range, literary quality, instructional and recreational use, and reader appeal.
A lower-elementary lesson plan designed to support respectful discussion of different family beliefs through literature. The lesson combines a read-aloud, guided discussion, standards-based activities, reflection, and supplementary book recommendations focused on safety, kindness, and religious tolerance.
