Collection Development and Maintenance
An overview of collection development and maintenance, with emphasis on evaluating, selecting, acquiring, and managing library materials that support the needs and goals of the communities and institutions they serve.
Community Needs Assessment
This community needs assessment analyzed demographic, collection, budget, and survey data from schools in the Central East Hillsborough Elementary PLC. The project helped identify patterns in collection age, STEAM nonfiction needs, budget differences, and access gaps across schools.
Copyright Professional Development
This professional development presentation was designed as a practical copyright guide for busy teachers. It explains copyright, fair use, common school-based copyright myths, red-flag uses, safer instructional practices, and the role of the media specialist as a support for ethical use.
LIS 6511 Course Reflection
This course reflection examines how LIS 6511 connected to my work as a first-year school media specialist. The reflection focuses on the practical value of the course, especially the community needs assessment, the collection development plan, and the ways collection work connects directly to professional decision-making in a school media center.
